@shirleighshirlz Is The Magic Faraway Tree REALLY worth watching? If you're looking for a family film this Easter, The Magic Faraway Tree is a charming adaptation of the Enid Blyton classic that blends nostalgia with a modern twist. Directed by Simon Farnaby (Paddington 2, Wonka), this version expands the story by giving more focus to the parents, played by Andrew Garfield and Claire Foy, which adds emotional depth that wasn’t as present in the original book. Where the film really shines though is in the visuals and world-building. The magical lands are brought to life beautifully, with the Land of Goodies standing out as a particular highlight. Performance-wise, Mark Heap as Mister Oom Boom is a standout, delivering one of the film’s most memorable and entertaining moments in the Land of the Birthdays. The film is especially perfect for those looking for a fun, visually charming family film with heart and nostalgia. @shirleighshirlz Channel 4 have knocked it out of the park by bringing back true social experiment reality TV. The concept of handcuffing polar opposites to each other is so simple, but in just one episode, we've seen some of the most chaotic, brilliant TV. Including the meltdown of a baron who sold his mansion as he couldn't handle being confronted by someone who he thought less of. @shirleighshirlz Aljaz & Janette's A Night To Remember Tour has so much going for it. For one, the live big band led by Tom Seals and the singing from Jill Marie Cooper makes this the best music of ANY Strictly tour I've seen in the 2025 season. I'm always going to favour a live big band over a Spotify playlist with shows like this. Add on a youthful dance troupe and the natural electric chemistry between Aljaz and Janette, and you have a tour that has the full package. @shirleighshirlz Viva Carnival is THE tour of the season. Call me biased if you want, but after last night it's a fact. Oti Mabuse - along with her insanely talented cast of dancers and singers - created a show that was nothing short of magical. What made Viva Carnival so special was the unapologetic celebration of cultures that have defined dance. From a parade of African flags that had the crowd going nuts, to the gasps of awe when Oti, Flavia and Polina came out with fairy light capes to dance to Woman's World, this show had EVERYTHING you could ask for and more. The reality is this review doesn't even do Viva Carnival justice and I'll be talking even more about how wonderful it is. @shirleighshirlz Kai Widdrington's new show, Evolution, brings together his life story and passions into 2 hours of high energy dancing. His dance troupe are of the highest quality and the tributes to the likes of Bruno Mars, Michael Jackson, The Mask and Gene Kelly are flawless. Quite honestly, they're some of my favourite routines of the Strictly 2025 tour season. I do think Kai needs to give himself more breaks during the show with voice overs because the dances are that intense!
